Elo Mutual Pension Insurance Company to have a large-scale office and hotel complex built between Keilaniemi and Otaniemi in Espoo

The new office building and hotel will be a part of the Swing House office building, located at the address Miestentie 5–9. It is estimated that the new office building will be finished by the end of 2021 and the hotel by the start of 2022. Sokotel Oy, a travel and hotel business as well as a subsidiary of SOK Liiketoiminta Oy, will be running the hotel operations.

The already existing office building is roughly 5,400 square metres and has been let to several users. The expansion covers an office and hotel area of approximately 6,200 square meters. The hotel will have approximately 260 rooms.

“Elo prefers real estate investments located within reach of good public transport connections. The location of the office area of Keilaniemi is excellent and its concept fits in our real estate portfolio very well,” says Kati Kniivilä, Director, Domestic Real Estate Investments, Elo.

Swing House is located in an area between Keilaniemi and Otaniemi – one of the Capital Region’s most central business areas. The office building and the hotel will be easily accessible in a busy hub of public transport, just a few minutes’ walk from the metro and buses. The office and hotel complex meets the needs of international companies particularly well.

“We have been looking for a good location in the heart of the dynamically growing and developing Keilaniemi for a long time. We are launching a new type of hotel that we have developed together with the concept development team of SOK Travel and Hospitality Chain Management. We are bringing a trendy entity into Finland’s market. It will resonate with international business travellers and pleasure travellers looking for experiences,” says Jarkko Härmälä, CEO, Sokotel Oy.

The complex will be built by Peab Oy.

Elo will apply for the WELL™ certification for the new office building. The certification is the first international quality classification for construction focusing on evaluating the well-being that a building produces. The WELL™ classification is based on measuring ten factors that impact well-being.
