Tips for applying for a job at Elo

Steps of the recruitment process

  • Submission and processing of applications

After submitting your application through our recruitment system, you will receive a notification that we have received your application. Through the link in the message, you can edit your application for the next 10 days or until we move your application to the next stage of the recruitment process. We always try to start processing the applications already during the application period and get in touch with you as soon as possible, as we understand that applying and waiting for a response can be stressful.
  • Video interview

Some of our recruitments include a video interview round before the actual interviews. In this case, you will receive an email from us with detailed instructions on how to participate in the video interview round. Not all of our recruitment processes involve this step.
  • First interview

The purpose of the first interview is to give you, the applicant, and the recruiting supervisor an opportunity to get to know each other better and discuss the open position and your relevant skills and expertise in more detail. In interviews, we always want to create an open and conversational atmosphere. We hope that you will ask as many questions about us as possible, so that we can mutually find out whether we are compatible with each other. The first round of interviews can be conducted either face to face or remotely.
  • Suitability assessments

In some of our recruitments, we use a personality assessment survey and/or suitability assessment to support our assessment process. Any suitability assessment is carried out by our partners. You will receive detailed instructions on how to participate in the assessments by email.
  • Second interview

In addition to the recruiting supervisor, the HR Partner will also participate in the second interview, and we will discuss your test results together. If possible, we are happy to carry out the second round of interviews face to face at our office.
  • Recruitment decision

The final recruitment decision is always made as soon as possible after the last interviews. We will notify all interviewees of the decisions by phone. Every applicant is important to us and we hope that even if you are not selected the first time you apply, you will continue to see Elo as a potential employer. Elo’s recruitment process includes the necessary security clearances (drug testing, credit and sanctions information, and security clearance by the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service Supo) for predefined positions in accordance with current practice. Security clearances are only obtained for the selected person, so please remember to give your consent to getting the clearances when submitting your application.
If you have any questions or would like to give us feedback or development ideas regarding our recruitment process, you can send us a message to rekrytointi@elo.fi and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Anonymous recruitment

In the autumn of 2024, we piloted an anonymous recruitment process in Elo. In an anonymous recruitment process, the applicants’ identifying information, such as their names and email addresses, are hidden from all submitted applications until the stage of the process when we have decided on the applicants to be invited for the first interview round.

Through the anonymous recruitment process, we want to reduce the impact of any unconscious biases on decisions and promote the equal treatment of our applicants as well as the fairness of the recruitment process, while the selection criteria focus on the applicants’ competence, experience and other skills required by the position.
