Work Coaches

Do you need help preparing your rehabilitation plan? You can get the support of a work coach if you need assistance in planning your rehabilitation. The work coach helps you consider work tasks and professions suitable for your health. The work coach is familiar with the working life and educational opportunities in your region. They monitor and support the implementation of your rehabilitation and act as your contact person at Elo. If work coaching does not lead to rehabilitation or employment, the work coach will guide you to other services.

How to Get a Work Coach

Once you have received a positive preliminary decision on vocational rehabilitation and completed the Rehabilitation Assistant in our Online Service, you can request a work coach in the Vocational Rehabilitation section of our Online Service under Rehabilitation Plan.

Work coaches work for our partner companies. If necessary, our work ability specialist will contact you before ordering a work coach.

We will provide the work coach with your basic information, such as your contact details. The work coach will contact you within two weeks.

How Work Coaching Is Implemented?

Meetings with the work coach can be face-to-face, by phone, or via video calls. The number of meetings is individual. Your own activity and commitment can influence the success of vocational rehabilitation.

Is There a Fee for Meeting a Work Coach?

Meeting a work coach is free of charge for you. You can apply for travel allowance for visits to the work coach in our Online Service. Payment of the rehabilitation allowance begins with the start of rehabilitation.

Steps with a Work Coach

1. You review your background and situation together
2. You plan how you will continue working or return to working life
- The planning takes into account your education, work experience, remaining work ability, and your opportunities for employment after the planned rehabilitation.
- Workplace rehabilitation (work trial and work coaching) are the primary methods in planning.
3. The work coach submits the plan to Elo
- Elo evaluates the plan individually.
4. Completing the plan application in our Online service
- Once the work coach informs you that Elo has approved the plan, fill in the plan application in our online service. You will receive a written decision on the plan.
5. You start rehabilitation
- If you start workplace rehabilitation, the work coach supports you throughout the rehabilitation period.
- If you start studying, the work coach supports you at least at the beginning of your studies.
- The work coach can also support you in becoming an entrepreneur or continuing as an entrepreneur.
