Vocational Rehabilitation Methods for Entrepreneurs

Elo’s vocational rehabilitation offers a range of methods to support continued work or return to working life. The methods include workplace rehabilitation (work trial and work coaching), business subsidy, and education. The same methods are available for both entrepreneurs and employees. For entrepreneurs, the selection also includes the entrepreneur’s work trial and business subsidy.

Support for education

Entrepreneur’s work trial

Rehabilitation for entrepreneurs often means a work trial in your own company. The prerequisites for granting an entrepreneur’s work trial are that your business is viable and the job description is suitable for your health. The entrepreneur’s work trial lasts 3–6 months.

You will be supported by a work coach specialized in supporting entrepreneurs, provided by our contractual partner, during the planning and implementation of the work trial. Elo pays you the rehabilitation benefit during the entrepreneur’s work trial.

If you already have YEL insurance, you do not need to change it because of the work trial. If you do not yet have YEL insurance, you can take it out in our Online Service for corporate customers.

Business Subsidy

With a business subsidy, Elo can support entrepreneurs or those planning to become entrepreneurs. The business subsidy is a grant for starting, modifying, or practicing a profession in your own business.

Business subsidy is granted for essential machines, equipment, and tools that support continued work despite health limitations. The prerequisite for granting a business subsidy is that the rehabilitee can earn a living from their business or profession in work suitable for their health.

The entrepreneur must also have their own funding in order to be granted a business subsidy. The business subsidy is a personal grant for the entrepreneur.

Work Coaches

You can get the support of a work coach specialized in supporting entrepreneurs from our contractual partner if you need help planning your rehabilitation. The work coach helps you consider, for example, how to adapt your business to suit your health. They monitor and support the implementation of your rehabilitation and act as your contact person with us.
